Yep, that’s me.
Good health and feeling my best have always been a focus in my life. However, I learnt just how fragile health can be and how important resilience is when I landed my dream job. After 15yrs working in childcare, I graduated among the top of my class with a Bachelor of Primary Education. After graduating I was targeted by the NSW government and offered what I thought was my dream job. I entered my first year of teaching with a passion and eagerness, however the realities of teaching with an endless to do list and relentless needs took its toll. By the end of my first year I was extremely stressed and anxious. Both my physical and mental health began to decline and I was no longer prioritising myself. Early into my second year I was running on fumes, amounting to a panic attack which took me out of work for several months as I picked up the pieces.
Through those months I found Functional Medicine and began to apply the principles to my life. It wasn’t an over night shift and it required me to become an active participant in my health again. But through making lifestyle changes I was able to take control and reshape my health.
I’m a father to my son, Oscar, and husband to my wife Sofie. I’m a passionate environmentalist teaching urban regenerative agriculture to students of all ages and am currently studying sustainability in environmental design - Permaculture. I dream of creating systems of environmental health and resilience that support families & community all whilst regenerating the natural environment.
